Summary
The insect-destroying efficacy of pathological preparations are tested by the use of caterpillars ofPieris brassicae L. A description of the technics is related. Some joined graphics show the regular results of this material in testing sporepreparations ofBacillus thuringiensis. Besides the normal mortality curve, two other resources to appreciate the efficacy of a sample were possible in using the descript technics; viz the consumption of the food and the rapidity of the grow-evolution by the survivors are in inverse proportion to the used concentration. Other curves show the importance to have equal temperatures during the observing time and to choose equal ages within the same insectstadium in order to be able to compare the results of different tests.
