Abstract
Procedures for mass-rearing ofLymantria dispar L. in a simple and effective manner were described byLeonard & Doane (1966),Odell & Rollinson (1966), andZlotin & Lymareva (1966).
During the past three years several attempts were made to develop an artificial medium for rearing the gypsy moth in this Station. The wheat germ diets formulated by the American authors were also tested, but with contrasting results.
The present paper reports the composition of a meridic diet that supports growth and development of the moth.
