Speed of response of multiphase class D amplifiers

Abstract

The maximum bandwidth of class D amplifiers with multiphase pulse-width modulation is determined. The upper bandwidth limit is shown to depend on the admissible value of the combination components of the lower side bands of a pulse-width modulated signal spectrum. The maximum bandwidth of class D amplifiers was found to be not more than 0.64 of the carrier frequency.
