Abstract
On the basis of an operator method that makes it possible to avoid any prior assumption as to the temperature distribution over the thickness of the layers of a covering we obtain general boundary conditions to describe convective heat transfer between a body and the surrounding medium through a thin multilayer orthotropic covering.
