Abstract
We study the stressed state of a thin cylindrical shell with a circular neck loaded by a constant internal pressure. We start from the equations obtained using Reissner's variational principle applying expansions of the components of the stress tensor and the displacement vector with respect to the coordinates along the normal to the base surface of the shell.
