Tropical Animal Health and Production Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

Eleven strains ofT. evansi breaking through prophylaxis with quinapyramine suraminate were tested for development of resistance to suramin, quinapyramine, and four strains also to diminazene. It was noted that a variable degree of resistance had developed to the former two drugs but not to diminazene. A strain each emerging from prophylaxis with suramin and with quinapyramine was found to have developed resistance to the inducing drug but without cross-resistance to the other two drugs.
