Abstract
Equations for determination of the bearing capacity of pile groups in soils prone to slump-type settlement and the optimal distance between piles in the groups are presented on the basis of solution of the problem of the limiting equilibrium of a single pile using the soil-strength parameters ϕ and c. The results of experimental scientific investigations confirm the computational assumptions made by the author, and also suggest good agreement between computational and field data.
