Abstract

Formulae are derived for the displacement and stress in an unbounded continuous isotropic medium when the dislocation loops are continuously distributed. The physical interpretation of the tensor introduced for the dislocation loop density in the crystal is discussed and the relation to the theory of the continuous distribution of dislocations is pointed out.
