Summary
A technique permitting separate catheterization of the anteriorcerebral and middle cerebral arteries concurrently in human subjects is described. This method should be used for comparative studies on the effects of various psycho-active substances by injecting in the carotid system, or in the anterior cerebral or middle cerebral arteries separately.
Further more separate catheterizations of the cerebral arteries, besides opening new perspectives on cerebral circulation, may be of value in neurosurgery, in view of better pre-operative knowledge of afférents and deferent vessels of arterio-venous malformations.
