Abstract

A set of measurements of vibration parameters (amplitudes and periods) of soils subjected to compaction by tampers weighing from 3.5 to 80 tons is analyzed. A correlation relationship between the velocity of the oscillations and the impact energy of the tampers and the distance to the point of impact was derived to determine seismically safe distances for tamping.
