Abstract
We conducted a study on the factors predictive of early mortality (within 30 days of onset of symptoms) in a clinical series of 94 patients at their first stroke. Irrespective of the type of stroke, ischemic or hemorrhagic, early mortality proved to correlate with clinical parameters, such as coma at onset, presence of paralysis, changes in ocular motility, and neuroradiological parameters (lesion size on the CT scan) indicative of stroke severity.

Abbiamo condotto uno studio prognostico sui fattori predittivi di mortalità precoce — entro 30 giorni dall'esordio dei sintomi — in una serie clinica di 94 pazienti al primo episodio di stroke acuto. Indipendentemente dal tipo di stroke, ischemico o emorragico, la mortalità a breve termine è risultata correlata a parametri clinici (coma all'esordio, presenza di plegia, alterazioni della motilità oculare) e neuroradiologici (dimensione della lesione alla TAC) indicativi di gravità dell'ictus.
