Summary
Life history ofAtherigona varia soccata Rond. under field conditions had been worked out on hybrid, sorghum CSH-3. The female laid eggs singly on the lower surface of the leaf blade. Single female laid 23–27 eggs in its life span. The eggs hatched in 1–3 days. There are four larval instars which were completed in 10–15 days. Pupation took place either in the stem of seedlings or in the soil. The pupal period varied from 6 to 9 days. The total life cycle took 17 to 27 days.
