Chemistry of Natural Compounds Aims and scope

Abstract

Two oligomeric proanthocyanidin glycosides have been isolated from the roots ofRhodiola pamiroalaica and their structures and relative configurations have been established:\(\begin{gathered}7 - O - galloyl - \beta- DGlcp\xleftarrow{6}O - \beta- D -\hfill \\Glcp\xleftarrow{6}O - \beta- D - Glcp] - ( + ) - gallocatechin - (4\alpha- 8) \hfill \\ - ( - ) - epicatechin - (4\beta- 8) - ( + ) - catechin -\hfill \\(4\alpha- 8) - 5 - O - [6 - O - galloyl - \beta- D*Glcp\xleftarrow{6}O - \beta- D - Glcp\xleftarrow{6} \hfill \\O - \beta- D - Glcp] - ( + ) - catechin \hfill \\ \end{gathered} \) — RP-1 - and\(\begin{gathered}7 - O - [O - D - Glcp\xleftarrow{6}O - \beta- D - Glcp - ] - ( - ) \hfill \\ - epicatechin - (4\beta- 6) - 7 - O - \beta- D - Glcp - ( - ) -\hfill \\epicatechin - (4\beta- 6) - 3 - O - galloyl - ( - ) - epigallo -\hfill \\catechin - (4\beta- 6) - 3 - O - galloyl - ( - ) - epigallocatechin - (4\beta- 6) - 3 - O - galloyl - 5 - O - \beta- D - Glcp -\hfill \\( - ) - epicatechin \hfill \\ \end{gathered} \) — RP-2.
