Abstract

A complete mechanical and optical characterization is obtained from constant-strain-rate tests for a typical Solithane 113 composition, a urethane-rubber compound having high birefringent sensitivity and excellent optical-transmission properties. Its viscoelastic transition region is found to span about six decades of logarithmic time, somewhat narrower than for other materials of the urethane family.
