Abstract
The importance of internal load transfer (interlaminar shear) in filament-wound structures is well known. The Aerojet-General Corp. developed a specimen to study the mechanics of interlaminar shear. This paper discusses the design, development, instrumentation and test of the shear specimen. The type of information which can be obtained from the test of the specimen is discussed, and typical data from a specific specimen are presented.
