Abstract

The basic equations which govern the optical characteristics of the telecentric-lens system have been derived and compared with experimental data obtained from two prototype systems, one having a 1∶1 magnification, the other a 4.6∶1 magnification. Some conclusions are drawn regarding the suitability of this type of system for experimental-stress-analysis purposes.
