Hydrotechnical Construction Aims and scope

Conclusions

  1. 1.

The proposed method of manufacturing sections of outsized penstocks for hydrostations from individual longitudinal segments eliminates the construction of specialized shops equipped with roller stands and reduces the production areas.

  2. 2.

A technicoeconomic comparison of the technological process of manufacturing the sections by the traditional and new methods shows that the number of technological operations and labor intensity by the proposed method are 30–40% less than in the case of assembling sections from cylindrical shells.

  3. 3.

It is necessary to perfect the technology of manufacturing sections from segments in order to reduce welding deformations.
