Zusammenfassung
Aufgrund von zwei Erhebungen bei Rentnern in Basel und Bern und bei Ärzten aus dem ganzen Land wird die ambulante Gesundheitsversorgung der über 65jährigen Bevölkerung in der Schweiz beschrieben. Bemerkenswerte Resultate betreffen die Rolle des Hausarztes, Hausbesuche, die Art der Therapie und der Nachkontrolle sowie der Befund, dass die Inanspruchnahme des Hausarztes von der Kostendeckung durch eine Krankenkasse beeinflusst wird. (34 % der über 85jährigen sind ohne Krankenkasse.)

A l'aide de deux enquêtes auprès de personnes âgées à Bâle et Berne, ainsi qu'auprès de médecins de tout le pays, nous décrivons les services de¦santé¦ ambulatoires ¦fournis aux gens¦âgés de 65 et plus en Suisse. Des résultats remarquables concernent le rôle du médecin de famille, les visites à la maison, le choix de thérapie et de surveillance ultérieure aussi bien que l'influence de la couverture des coûts par une caisse-maladie sur la fréquence d'utilisation des services du médecin. (34% des vieillards âgés de 85 et plus ne sont pas couverts par une caisse-maladie.)
Summary
Based upon two investigations involving a sample of the elderly in Basle and Berne and a sample of physicians in private practice throughout the country, a description of the ambulatory health care of the population of Switzerland aged 65 and over is presented. Significant results include the role of the family physician, home visits, the kind of therapy and follow-up as well as the remarkable finding that the utilization of the family physicians' services is influenced by the presence of health insurance coverage. (34% of the people aged 85 and over are without coverage.)
