Conclusions

  1. 1.

    The solution to problems of conducting hydraulicking work at negative temperatures should be based on engineering calculations for predicting the cryothermic regime of the structure.

  2. 2.

    When determining the economic expediency of extending the season or of work under winter conditions, it is necessary to take into account not only the additional costs but also the losses occurring from long interruptions.

  3. 3.

    The length of the hydraulicking season under rigorous climatic conditions (e.g., on the Boguchany dam) can be increased 15% by an earlier start.

  4. 4.

    Prolongation of the season by later ending of the work is also possible, but such an extension requires a number of special engineering measures.

  5. 5.

    An engineering approach based on all experience gained and on the results of special investigations will ensure the wide introduction of a highly effective hydraulicking method at construction projects of the Angara—Enisei sequence of hydrostations under conditions of the rigorous climate of the northeastern part of our country.
