Conclusions

  1. 1.

The proposed method permits calculating the effect of horizontal forces and bending moments applied to the heads of vertical and cylindrical piles most commonly used in hydraulic construction practice. In this case there is no need to seek a criterion for assigning the supports to the category of beams of finite length or infinitely long ones.

  2. 2.

The working formulas are reduced to coefficients of the equations used in calculating pile caps.

  3. 3.

The full-scale tests conducted confirm qualitatively and quantitatively the correctness of the results obtained from a calculation by the recommended method. An analysis of the results of experimental investigations conducted by other authors both in our country and abroad leads to the same conclusion.
