Conclusions

  1. 1.

    A high-head regulating jet gate of modern design exhibits a high capacity and regulates the discharging flow smoothly over the entire range of its variation.

     
  2. 2.

    Virtually all excess energy of the discharging flow (99–99.9%) is dissipated in the flow-merging chamber; a nearly completely smooth flow therefore proceeds into the outlet pipe.

     
  3. 3.

    The jet gate permits a large variety of layout solutions for sluice systems and can be employed for heads to 300 m and greater.
