Summary
Publishing a peer-reviewed journal requires balance. The needs of the authors for timely publication of manuscripts must be balanced with the readers' right to benefit from carefully reviewed, high-quality work that is transmitted as rapidly as possible. Further balanced with these considerations are the editorial goals and policies of the jorunal and the conventions of publishing. It is our ultimate goal to form a covenant with the authors and the readers and in so doing to ensure that, as Editors, we bring the best oncology literature about multidisciplinary cancer care and research to all surgical specialties.
