Summary

With the electron microscope, only the primary vegetative form of the nucleoid had been observed till now on bacterial cells in the latent phase of growing. We propose an improved method which enables us to observe the nucleoids in any physiological state. Secondary vegetative forms are shown in the division process and 3 resting forms. The samples are prepared from liquid cultures by means of a filtration through the supporting membrane. Changes in the physiological conditions are avoided.
