Summary

Non-ionic surfactants showed minor effects on the uptake of H3-palmitic acid into the lipids of rat pancreasin vitro. In the presence of the cationic and anionic surfactants tested, the fraction of free H3-palmitic acid bound by the tissue increased. Only the anionic laurylsulfate, however, stimulated the uptake of H3-palmitic acid into neutral lipids without stimulating its uptake into phospholipids.
