Quantitative determination of convallatoxine fromHerba convallariae

Summary

Extracts fromConvallaria maialis from different harvest seasons were separated on thin layers of silica using ethyl acetate-methanol-acetic acid as eluent. Convallatoxine was sufficiently separated from the extracts to permit its densitometric determination. The convallatoxine content of various plant materials is compared.
