Determination of inositol isomers and arabitol in human urine by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry

Summary

A capillary gas chromatography method for the analysis of inositol isomers and arabitol (extendable to threitol and adonitol) is described and applied to urine after derivatization. The single ion monitoring technique allows a notable improvement in sensitivity and selectivity.
