Die Retinopathie im Rahmen des Diabetes mellitus

Zusammenfassung

Es werden 400 Diabetikerohne Retinopathie 220 Diabetikernmit Retinopathie gegenübergestellt. Vorgeschrittenes Lebensalter, hohe Blutdruckeinstellung und Hypertonie, Arteriosklerose, Albuminurie, Nephropathie (nephrotisches Syndrom) und lange Diabetesdauer (10 und mehr Jahre) sind die Kriterien der Retinopathiegruppe. Retinitis exsudativa und Retinitis proliferans werden als echte, in Anlage und Vererbung begründete diabetische Erkrankungen angesprochen. Die dritte der Retinopathieformen, die Retinitis haemorrhagica, wird zu den “diabetesgeförderten” Erkrankungen gezählt. Auf Erörterungen von Kausalitäten — außer dem Diabetes mellitus — wird verzichtet.
