Summary
A biometrical study of thepars stridens is given for each group (queen, male, workers) ofAcromyrmex octospinosus. Comparisons are made with the data ofMarkl (1968) onAtta cephalotes. Although some differences occur, the morphometrics of these two attini show a good homogeneity.
The acoustical definition of the sound produced is made by the use of noise level recordings, and spectrographical and oscilloscope analysis of the stridulation. The study is done with reference to the first biometrical part of this work.
