Exsanguinating stercoral ulceration

Abstract

A case of stercoral ulceration complicated by massive hemorrhage is reported. An elderly woman with moderate cardiovascular disease entered the hospital with clinical evidence of marked blood loss from the anorectum. Despite treatment she died in less than 24 hr; autopsy revealed no other cause of death.
