Summary
By using a parameter determined from the leading half of the peak to describe the peak asymmetry, a method for the calculation of statistical moments of overlapping peaks is developed. This approach is also applicable to the deconvolution of partially overlapping peaks. The advantage of this method over the traditional summation method for the statistical moment analysis of overlapping peaks is significant.
