Summary

Some polycyclic nitrogen-containing compounds were separated on a high-temperature liquid phase, carboranesiloxane. Among these compounds 2-azafluoranthene and 1-methyl-2-azafluoranthene were identified using mass-, IR-, and1H NMR spectroscopy. The total content of both compounds in the polycyclic nitrogen compound fraction of coal tar was 12–13%.
