Summary
This paper outlines the position that humans are basically adapted for life in the ocean of air but that they tend to be poorly educated about that world of sky and its physical and psychological impacts on their lives. Reasons for this lack of basic awareness are suggested and it is argued that educational systems should do more to include education about the sky and people in the basic curriculum. A working outline of a possible formal, interdisciplinary curriculum is included as is a schematic for a nonformal curriculum webbing strategy relative to the sky. The article also includes topical suggestions for sky-oriented adult programs.
