Summary

The retention behaviour and separation ability of cellulose, starch and aminoplast thin-layers with aqueous and non-aqueous mobile phases has been studied by measuring the retention of a homologous series of benzamides. The retention behaviour and separation ability are discussed in terms of the nature of the solute, support and eluent.
