Abstract

This publication deals with the three phases of the sterilisation process, employing a steam steriliser: heating, sterilisation and cooling. Failures which are observed in practice will be discussed in detail and recommendations for prevention are given. A physical method for monitoring the operation of the steriliser is described.

Het artikel behandelt de drie fasen verwarmen, sterilisatie en koelen van het sterilisatieproces uitgevoerd met behulp van een stoomsterilisator. Aangegeven wordt welke fouten kunnen optreden en op welke wijze men deze kan voorkomen. Daarnaast wordt beschreven hoe de werking van de sterilisator op betrouwbare wijze kan worden gecontroleerd.
