Summary

Optimization strategies for improvement of peak capacity in size exclusion chromatography (SEC) of proteins with chemically modified silica columns are discussed. Decreasing flow rate and particle diameter and increasing the pore volume per unit column volume help to improve peak capacity in SEC.
