Mixed micropacked columns designed for selective separation of fermentation products

Summary

A new method is proposed for the analysis by gas chromatography of volatile compounds found in alcoholic and acetic fermentation samples.

The method represents a suitable choice for the accurate and precise determination of 19 compounds (including Methanol) by direct injection onto a single column.

Chromatograms of synthetic mixtures as well as actual samples show the capabilities of the micropacked column used.
