A computer algorithm for the real time selection of the important mass spectra within an automated GC-MS analysis

The adequate way to computerize a GC-MS combination is to operate the MS in a cycle and to measure each spectrum. A computer algorithm is described, which selects in real time all mass spectra, which could be important in the process of the analysis following the experiment. It avoids storage and further processing of not needed spectra and recognizes background spectra.
