Abstract
A pulse, modulator for driving Kα band IMPATT diodes is described, which facilitates chirp control and optimization of oscillator performance by current pulse shaping. Peak powers in excess of 20Watts have been achieved, with a pulse duration of 250ns and 0.1% duty cycle.
