Summary
A new method was developed for classifying agricultural droughts based on crops yields and index of moisture adequacy (AE/PE). It is found that in the arid regions of western Rajasthan, kharif pulses are more susceptable for drought than pearl millet. The method is based on rational concepts and can be extended to any region and to any crop.
