On the production alumina column with continuously increasing activity

A column with alumina of activity level I (according to H. Brockmann) can be inactivated by injecting the appropriate quantity of water with an air flow, so that its activity continuously increases from the lowest level V to the originan level I. Such columns permit separations of nonpolar fluids in an extended range and with fairly sharp zones.
