Summary
The analyses of the plasma concentrations of two drugs, one a water soluble weak base and the other a lipophilic ester with acidic metabolites, are used to illustrate the advantages of reversed-phase chromatography over other techniques in drug metabolism studies. The problems associated with each method are discussed and compared.
