Capillary gas chromatography/mass spectrometry of aza-arenes isolated from crude coal tar

Summary

The basic fraction of crude coal tar was isolated in a two-step partition process. Its constituents, mostly azaarenes up to four-ring structures, were resolved on a Superox-coated glass capillary column and tentatively identified by combined gas chromatography/mass spectrometry.
