Routine application of HPLC for quantification of aflatoxins in whole peanut kernels

Summary

High-pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) was applied for separation and quantification of the concentration of aflatoxin in 500 samples of shelled unroasted whole peanut kernels. Requirements of the method and reasons for choosing HPLC are discussed, as well as the problems arising from applying the technique to this routine application.
