Reductive desulfuration of ketones of the thiophene series containing an adamantane group

Reductive desulfuration of adanant-1-yl thien-2-yl ketone, adamant-1-ylmethyl thien-2-yl ketone, adamant-1-yl 2-(thien-2-yl)vinyl ketone, and adamant-1-yl 2,2′-bithiophen-5-yl ketone with Raney nickel in ethanol leads to the corresponding alkyl adamant-1-yl ketones with normal structures.
