Vollständige Zehenlosigkeit bei einer Fasanenhenne (Phasianus colchicus L.)

Zusammenfassung

Beschrieben und mit zwei Fotos belegt wird das beidseitige Fehlen der Füße ab MitteTarsometatarsus bei einem adulten weiblichen Fasan. Das in mittelmäßigem Ernährungszustand befindliche Tier vermochte die Imbalance der tarsometatarsograden Fußung durch Abstützen mit Schwanzfedern und Handschwingen offenbar so gut zu kompensieren, daß es hinsichtlich Nahrungserwerb und Fortbewegung nicht lebensbedrohend behindert war.

Summary

The absence of the toes above the mid tarsometatarsus on both feet of an adult pheasant hen is described and illustrated by two photographs. The hen was in mediocre nutritional condition. However, it was able to compensate so well for the imbalance caused by the missing digits — supporting itself with its tail feathers and pinions, that it was not handicapped in its movements nor in its ability to find food.

Résumé

Est décrit et documenté par deux photos le cas d'une poule faisane adulte, dépourvue des deux pattes à partir du milieu du Tarso-metatarse. L'oiseau, en condition physique moyenne, était apparemment en mesure d'équilibrer ses mouvements de façon satisfaisante en s'appuyant sur les rémiges et sur les rectrices. Tant et si bien qu'il n'était gêné de façon vitale ni dans ses déplacements ni dans son alimentation.
