Brucella suis Biovar 2-infections among field hares

Zusammenfassung

Das Vorkommen von Brucellose bei Feldhasen in verschiedenen Tilen Österreichs wird durch pathologische und bakteriologische Untersuchung belegt. Im Rahmen der pathologischen Untersuchung wurden bei allen Tieren granulomatöse Entzündungen in verschiedenen Organen, bevorzugt in Geschlechtsorganen, Leber und Milz gefunden. Der Nachweis der Infektion erfolgte durch Isolierung des Erregers, die Typisierung der Isolate ergabBrucella suis Biovar 2.

Die Gefahr einer Einschleppung der Infektion in Wild- und Hausschweinbestände sowie die Möglichkeit einer Übertragung auf den Menschen werden angesprochen.

Summary

The occurrence of Brucellosis among field hares in different areas of Austria was substantiated via pathological and bacteriological investigations. The pathological investigations showed granular inflammations in various organs, particularly in the genitals, liver, and spleen. The infecting agents isolated proved to beBrucella suis Biovar 2.

The danger of transmitting this infection to wild boar and domestic pigs, as well as the possibility of human contagion were mentioned.

Résumé

La présence de la Brucellose chez le Lièvre brun dans différentes régions de l'Autriche est confirmée par des examens pathologiques et bactériologiques. L'examen pathologique révèle chez tous les animaux des inflammations granulomateuses sur différents organes et plus spécialement sur les organes génitaux, sur le foie et sur la rate. L'infection a été vérifiée par isolement du virus pathogène et l'isolat a permis d'identifierBrucella suis Biovar 2.

Le danger d'une importation de l'infection dans les populations de Sanglier et de Porc domestique ainsi que la possibilité d'une transmission à l'homme sont pris en considération.
