-
- Restriktionsgrenze (z. B. verfügbare Investitionsmittel) gegeben, Zielfunktionsmaximum (maximal erzielbarer Gewinn) gesucht,
-
- Zielfunktionsmaximum (z. B. geforderter Mindestgewinn) gegeben, Restriktionsgrenze (erforderliche Investitionsmittel) gesucht.
Abstract
For the Knapsack-Problem an upper bound for the objectiv-function-maximum can be calculated easily with the given coefficients and the restriction-constant. With this upper bound an error-estimation is also obtained for each approximation of the wanted maximum. The simplicity of this estimation allows the calculation of a great number of such approximations without much calculating time (for example in the parametric optimization).
Thus the connection between the restriction-constant and the objective-function-maximum can be approximatively determined (see the example with 36 variables), so that an essential information concerning the following two problems is given:
-
- find the objective-function-maximum (e.g. the attainable profit) by given restriction-constant (investable capital),
-
- find the restriction-constant (e.g. necessary investement) by given objectiv-function-maximum (demanded smallest profit).
Moreover in calculating the upper bound an approximative solution of the Knapsack-Problem is obtained.
