Abstract
A simple, rapidly performed spot-test using paper impregnated with a dye-labeled substrate has been devised which distinguishes hyperamylasemia of appreciable degree. As presently constructed, however, the test does not permit precise quantitative assessment of amylase activity. Although the procedure must be considered as still rudimentary, it appears to have considerable potential as a diagnostic device.
