Abstract
Acute transverse myelitis was observed as a complication of intravenous heroin addiction in a young man. Recovery within seven weeks was good, but not complete. The literature is reviewed and the possible pathogenetic mechanisms are discussed.

In un giovane dedito all'uso di eroina è stata osservata una mielite trasversa acuta. Il recupero nelle sette settimane successive è stato buono, ma non completo. Gli autori esaminano la letteratura e discutono i possibili fattori patogenetici.
