Hemichorea due to a cavernous angioma of the caudate. Case report of an aged patient

Abstract

A 75 year old man presented left hemichorea due to a cavernous angioma of the head of the contralateral caudate. Cavernous angiomas of the basal ganglia are an infrequent cause of hemichorea especially in older subjects but should be considered in the differential diagnosis.

Sommario

Viene presentato il caso di un paziente di 75 anni affetto da un'emicorea secondaria ad una lesione della testa del caudato controlaterale. Gli angiomi cavernosi sono una causa rara di emicorea specialmente nelle persone anziane. Il presente caso però suggerisce che debbano, essere considerati nella diagnosi differenziale dell'emicorea.
